What's New in Summary

April 20, 2021

DAT-MAIL™ (DM)

  • Major changes were made in the way Tags and Pallets are printed in DM. Tag and placard formats are now in independent profiles. Default settings for Tag and placard formats and printers can be defined at global, workstation and user levels. For more details, see Printing Tags and Pallets. Users can override settings dynamically at runtime or in AWAM or Batch Reporting, for more detail see Overriding Tag Printer/Format Settings on the Fly.

  • A converter has been created for conversion of existing tag-printing profiles and will run automatically the first time DM starts up. For more detail, see Printing Tags and Pallets.

  • We created a system for converting and managing many of our ini settings/files in MS SQL.

  • We added a display of the container information for the imported PMOD CSV file and totals for job-based PMOD shipments. For more detail, see PMOD Imported CSV Shipments Detail.

  • Now that container information has been added for imported PMOD shipments, the Open and Distribute report has now been enabled in the PMOD Labels/Shipments Browse screen.

  • "Holds" are now supported in the PMOD module. For more detail, see Support "Holds" in PMOD Module.

  • The Rate Summary Report for First Class Mail statement line S17 (Picture Permit imprint) was incorrect (only when ‘performance enhanced’ was set to “Off” otherwise the count was correct). This has been fixed.

  • A correction was made to the Periodicals statement Part D Outside Bundle County Prices, which were missing the D6 mail code. This issue was identified during testing and appeared on the Rate Summary Report and regular statement generation only (DMQP was correct).

  • A correction was made to the piece count in statement generate and the Rate Summary report (only – DMQP had correct totals) for Periodicals statement Part D: Outside Bundle County prices.

  • An issue was found while testing Periodicals Mail.dat files: Incorrect piece count on line D12. The issue was identified during testing and appeared on the Rate Summary Report and regular statement generation only (DMQP was correct).

  • A change was made to filter out pieces not counted by the USPS as undocumented when bringing data into the Undocumented Piece Audit Report. For more detail, see Undocumented Piece Audit Report Change.

  • Users who archive jobs in DM would sometimes experience issues when trying to run the Undocumented Piece Audit Report, including having to click “ok” many times when there were errors or files not found. This has been modified to give a warning message after the first error and allow options for exiting or running the report without having to click through a lot of error messages.

  • We added support for ZIP files for the Undocumented Piece Audit Report.

  • The link called by the ‘What's New’ button has been updated.

  • We added a check for duplication of the description field value for job categories located in DM's main menu - File > Category Maintenance.

DAT-PreCheck™ (DPC)

PostalWeb Connector™ (PWC)

  • Combined DPC Client with PWC. For more details, see PWC - What's New in Detail. If you also use PWDD, please see PWDD - What's New in Detail for additional information.

  • If you are a current DPC and PWC user, you can immediately start using DPC within PWC, instead of using two applications. You still have the ability to use Auto Validation or Batch Validation. The main advantages to using it within PWC is that as long as the PWC service is running, DPC is processing any jobs placed in the Auto Validation's Input Folder.

  • PWC users can now take advantage of an integrated DPC client without installing another product, please contact Client Services at 800-524-0380, if you are interested. The ability to validate duplicate barcodes before or without importing Mail.dats into DM is a key advantage to this new feature. For more information, see DPC - What's New in Detail and PWC - What's New in Detail.

  • Add Blob and PWNDT table clean up to PWC. For more details, see PWC - What's New in Detail.
