The times of the prayers are called by the mua’dhen over loudspeakers at mosques, starting at dawn and ending at night. Traditional dishes are often highlighted, including traditional desserts, and particularly those made only during Ramadan. Many Muslims in Australia fast during the daylight hours in the month of Ramadan. Suhoor is a meal taken just before sunrise, before the day of fasting starts.
